The Run is set to take to the trails of Kelowna’s beautiful Wilden Ridge. Taking advantage of Kelowna’s active lifestyle, and a plethora of seemingly endless trails the Wild One Run is for a good cause. The run is all about supporting youths in our community deal with mental health, and suicide prevention. All proceeds go to the Blenk Family Fund for Youth Mental Health. The fund supports The Foundry Kelowna which is a family wellness center where young people can find hope, help, and support.
When is the run? And will I make it to the finish line?
The Run will be on October 14th, 2018 with the start and finish of all three courses will be at the future Wilden village center site at the top of Union Road. If you want to be a part of this amazing run but are not too sure about the distance and pace, the Wild One run has you covered with options to not only challenge you but also to get you to the finish line. These lengths include:
The Run will be offered with four options:
10K Loop for more experienced runners – 45$
5K Run/walk – $40
5K Dog run with owner (dog must be on leash always) – $40
1K Kids run (under 12 years of age) with their supporter(s) – $12
At 9:30 AM sharp, the 10k run and 5km walk begin. Shortly after at 10:00 AM, the 5km run commences. At 10:10 AM 5km dog run with owner starts and finally at 11:00 AM kids run is underway. Can I rest my legs after the run?
The Wild One run has thought of everything for you. With the longer distance runs, the price includes on trail support, and food after the event to keep you fueled and energized. If that isn’t enough, residents Kim Morgan and Chris Keeley will provide live entertainment on stage at the event to raise the energy. Awards will be given out after the last runner/walker has finished the trails.
The run is also still looking for volunteers. Visit https://www.wildonerun.ca/ to look for volunteer options or to learn more about this amazing event.
